Not so far off actually, I noticed it also removes all dead skin when I shave lol

Test drove one of them, so much fun!
The Quadrifoglio?
It must have been fun
I’m hoping to atleast drive one if they have one on the lot when I do a service but so far they are probably sold before they hit the lot.

I recently got a Tesla Model Y Performance which has a similar 0-60 in a practical crossover-ish body. Its a fun car.

I've definitely hard-wired myself into not wanting to buy anything expensive even though I know I have the money and frankly, I am tired of it, constantly desiring clothes I cannot possibly bring myself to pay for. So, I was just wondering, anyone else feeling that way?

This thread isn't about whether a certain leather jacket or whatever is too expensive. It isn't & I'm pretty sure we all here can afford any jacket we want so that's not the point. I can't think of a single leather jacket I couldn't buy several times over but I'm annoyed with the nagging feeling that it'd be an immensely stupid thing to do - Even though I will happily drop same amount of money for several cheap(er) jackets!

Anyway, I'm genuinely curious about how others feel about it but I mainly want to see what pieces y'all occasionally look at but simply can't bring yourself to buy.

And I'm not talking about grails or anything like that, no; Just something you hate wanting so badly! It can be whatever, no matter how stupid. :D

I'll start off with this Saint Laurent...

Btw…The picture I’ve shown is of the aged lambskin variant, which I prefer because of comfort reasons and I prefer the texture as well, however I do own the calf version from fall winter 2016 that is great and much more durable as well in a size larger (54/44) but too big for me currently.

The Flat Head type 2. I like the contrast stitching and relatively longer length. I am having a hard time justifying the drastic price increase over a Y’2 though, which is already so nice.

I want a Himel Canuck. I also want a larger apartment, a complete set of Global chef’s knives and a pair of R.M. Williams.

I am not going to buy any of them, as I don’t actually need them.

Get the boots. They will last you a lifetime and are not subject to weight fluctuations. If you get the Craftsman in the standard roo hide they with also withstand any follies of changing fashion.
Also, a quality pair of boots adds some sense of stability even in times of utter chaos.

I have three pairs of William Lennons :) The brown ones are well-battered and over ten years old. Paired with my 16 year-old brown hh Highwayman and some striped grey Pike Bros Hunter pants, chaos stays mostly away. I need to be on a saving spree for a while, but maybe in a year I will get the RMs - fantastic boots. I’ve realised that getting the Thedi and Café Racer to fit is going to require a lot of discipline.

I want a Heat Straps V-2 Deck Jacket. I am a sucker for warm weather clothing. This is a warm jacket. Do I need it? Probably not as I have a bunch of other warm weather coats and jackets, including a Canada Goose and an N3-B.

But I can justify it. As soon as their production run starts, my order will be in. Don't want to be cold this winter.

I keep seeing many new to repro brand people saying they can't see the value in going from double helix and Y2 to these time tested established brands like Real Mccoy's and Flathead. I want to assure you, that there is definitely a noticeable increase in overall qualiity, from construction, to cutting, fit, stitching and leather. It's not that Y2 is amazing value for the same quality, their margins and profits are probably similar, a Flathead just costs a lot more to make and the price justifies that.

Of course, you may not have the experience to see that difference in quality, and or, it may not be worth it to you as an individual, to spend that much money for the increase in quality, and that is completely understandable, and I respect that decision.

Thank you for your helpful comment. You are correct, I am very new.

The way I see it, if the goal is to buy a leather jacket and wear it for the long haul, an extra few hundred dollars could be worth it if it translates into real quality, like you say. I am only hesitant because I am wary of paying extra for a name brand or for minor improvements I wouldn’t notice.

Would you say the general improvements between the tiers you reference are noticeable to the casual but discerning wearer day to day in terms of aesthetics and comfort? Or is this something that would take an enthusiast’s inspection to discern such as minor stitching quibbles?

I do like saving money, but I also wouldn’t be upset to be influenced upwards haha

Thedi or a custom leather jacket. Used OTR leather jackets already fit me so well, so I can’t justify the price difference to pay for the experience.

I'm seriously considering the new gold color version of this Purple Label Locklear (I'm told it's about 1.3mm cowhide), or a Rainbow Country All State. I can get the Locklear on heavy discount for slightly cheaper than the All State (through some contacts). Which one do people prefer?

I far prefer the Rainbow Country. I'm not a fan of the already distressed look, whether its done by RL, Master Supply or anyone else.

They are 2 different jackets, the RRL is a supple Cowhide whereas the RC is a consistent stiffer horsehide.
Your preference will make the difference between a supple comfortable jacket, and a real bad *** tougher one…
