Tagged size 46 buco. Not cheap, so more a find than a deal. Why are all these incredible old jackets like 4-5 inches too short? lol Maybe there was nobody above 6' tall in the 1950s :(

pretty damn good shape given its age

Not sure what you meant by “exclusively” but either way, that “Peter’s” shop also makes other designs and other shops also reproduce Peter’s original design, neither of which means “exclusively.”
It looks like that shop uses the namesake “Peter’s Tailor Made” exclusively. Please just take a breath before making your declarative replies.

I'm 6' 3" and if I measure from my C7 to my natural waist it is 26.5 inches. This jacket would sit like 2-3 inches above where my pants sit, and that's if I were wearing pants at my natural waist :(

In those years the cross zip was the hot setup for motorcycle crashing. From there and on into the 1960's the riding pants were super high waisted and usually had a drawstring style closure in the back so it fit tight... like a girdle.

Sometime around the late 60's to early 70's that high waist girdle was replaced w/ something riders called a kidney belt. They were roughly 6" high and fit around your waist something like a weight lifter's belt. That innovation allowed mfg's to ditch the super high waist on their riding pants and once that transition had normalized riding jackets became longer, riding pants usually had a shorter rise and then came armor.

Cross zips were short because riding pants came much higher up on the rider.

Does Schott offer any sales/discounts other than their Black Friday discount? I am an educator, if that matters.

That is wild! But it does explain things. It's too bad that it makes a lot of the old jackets unwearable for me (and many others I imagine) since there is no way I am going to wear pants (let alone leather ones) that extend to the mid-back

I am in the same boat as you being 6'3" I have yet to find anything vintage that actually fit me well. I have found pieces that I can wear unzipped and or only casually but no chance its working on a motorcycle. I think I am finally giving into the idea I just need to have something made if I want to actually wear it on the bike
