Saturday evening I was out and about in a Newt panama. I appreciate the gorgeous artisan efforts on this warm weather hat.

Good Sunday morning. A dog soirée and I started burning some yard detritus under the brim of a Stetson Stratoliner in a peacock green felt hue. This version has a 2.25" brim.

I moved and worked my fire under the brim of a Stetson *******.

I ran to get a car wash and pick up some groceries. A blue 30's Brock fedora was my choice for the efforts.

I've got a Stetson that fits like my head was made for it. I wore it all day out working in the yard and running errands. When I got home I started painting the deck. That hat is so comfortable I had forgotten I had it on.

The rest of the story is probably not too tough to guess.

If you're wondering the paint color "cedar" looks orange on a brown hat.
Oh, ouch!!!

Starting out monday with a fairly new-to-me Royal Deluxe Open Road. Nice lightweight felt in a light greenish grey color. Nice condition, but It was missing the liner when I recieved it. As warm as it is, Ill just leave it as is for now and sew a new liner in come cooler weather.

Here lately most of my "hat $$$" has been side-tracked by my newest project... titled as a 1936 Ford 1/2 ton pickup truck. I still check in daily to see all the great hats y'all be posting but been busy in the shop fixing this old girl up. I did acquire a Royal Stetson that is stamped inside the sweatband as a
" Stetson Employees Factory Store Reject ".
Dang if I can see what made it a reject. Possibly the pugaree style hatband, which is usually seen on straw hats ?
* waiting on the big brown truck to deliver rear drum brake parts this morning so I can get them installed & bleed the brake system which has been completely overhauled with new components throughout.
Hope y'all have a good 'un !!

Another gorgeous hat, Don.

A hat so nice you can wear it twice!

I'm sure you're glad to went for that one, Marcel! Worth it!

"Windsor" made by Anton Peschel Dinkelsbühl, possibly late 1950s. I found this Soft Felt back in 2017.

Great shape and very cool ribbon treatment.

Sunday morning greetings. Nice sunny morning for a change so I felt like something different. Today up top we have a nice little Royal Stetson with a wide ribbon and backbow 2" brim 5" crown. This one never fails to get comments .... Smaller brims and backbows just arent that common here in the Piney woods of East Texas

Little short Mr Moose update.... weve been pumping him with good food and meds to build his strength up going into surgery. Hes definately perked up a lot. We go in for a pre op check tuesday and hopefully will get surgery scheduled soon to come. ouple of Ribeyes , Roast chicken last night, and a dose of scrambled eggs and ham daily ( the scrambled eggs are a good conduit to mix things with and get his vitamins and meds inside). One of his fans locally has donated a bunch of fresh yard eggs so at least for now we have an endless supply lol. The Go Fund Me is moving well and we may almost have the surgery costs covered soon
