Looks like a mix between model B deluxe (with no cinches/side straps) and Comet (no handwarmers and double chest pocket)?
Grainy as fk leather.
Big shame about the nickel hardware.

Vanson Model E (has side laces - erroneously labeled a C2) For the larger fellows, Size 50; looks like very nice old comp Weight Steerhide, but nearly NOS as well $595 but have gotten an offer for $550 - too large for me.

There's something about this jacket that strikes me as being not quite right and I can't put my finger on it. I've got a Vanson Model A and it's close... but not the same. Nothing stands out as being overwhelmingly odd about it, it's just a compilation of small aspects, like:

- Zero feedback. Yeah. Not a deal breaker but an interesting aspect.

- Seller purports to be female and says wearing this size 46 jacket made her a better rider. If that's the case when she orders a drink, it's diesel.

- There are no snaps for a slipstream liner but there is a zipper and liner that looks mostly as I'd expect

- That look like a #10 zipper to you? Seems a little light to me

- That look like brass hardware to you?

- Hem and P2P are both 21.5"? If that's the case there's some common core math in here somewhere.

All good points here. Kind of surprised its still out there at this price. Perhaps others were as confused about some parts of it that I am. I am only like ~ 2.5 hours from there, if I were still in the Chicago area, I might take a chance with Local Pick Up to make sure.

We're about to find out. I offered $150 and the seller bit. In another odd twist they said they'd ship Monday as the post office is closed today. The post office isn't closed today... I went there earlier myself. Regardless, if I just picked up a vintage Model A for $150 that's a pretty sweet deal. If it turns out there's a turd in the punchbowl the ante to play this game is low enough to cover whatever inconvenience may be around the corner..

My first ever Vanson was a find off Craigslist - also in the Chicago area - $85. She had here phone # listed and was willing to take a check (gasp) and even sent the jacket before she received the check (2x Gasp).

She sent a note along with the jacket - to the effect of "glad you can enjoy it, and "he" never will again."

Yeh, that Vanson is gorgeous, and I do agree that the price is quite fair....I just bought the same jacket in 40 last month.

You can see the serial number inside the pocket. If you email Vanson, they can likely tell you the history of the jacket. They usually get back to you in 24 hours, from my experience....awesome company. If it's an off the rack, it's almost certainly their standard 36 Model B dimensions (not tight, not loose.)
