Now with no Goodyear welt, and with their rubber soles & stuff, I don’t know if they would pass the genuine cowboy test, but I am just a bloke hanging around in Japan and not doing cowboy stuff, so they’ll do. I also tried some Ropers, which may be more practical for me, but just didn’t really like the look.

They feel pretty good on, although the stiffer leather of the counter does hurt my ankle a little. That’s a problem I’ve had with short boots & slightly higher shoes before, so I’m expecting it to get better with wear, I walked for half an hour in them yesterday, and spent a couple of hours shopping in them today. Slight pain, as mentioned, but no redness or lingering pain.

Wow!! As we used to say at my old workplace: that, sir, is the complete package!!

This JBS 15 in midnight blue is one of the nicest hats in my collection. Too nice, really, since that means I don't wear it nearly as much as it deserves.

Had to make a doctor appointment run up the road this morning. Managed to run into a used pipe for sale while I was in the next town over. A rusticated Peterson B42 ( I have another one of these in a sandblast finish, but I like this one way better) . On the head today is one of the Stetson Stratoliners, this one in Caribou. Starting to get warmer, so I can see that it wont be long before I have to park the felts on the wall and go all straw or hemp.

Too right we will take it Stefan, thank you very much. Yesterday I treated Tina to Sunday lunch at a rather good country inn. Following her heart surgery her surgeon told me to expect good days and bad days. The bad days have been getting less and less, but yesterday wasn't good.

Tina, bless her, didn't want to stand me up on the lunch, far from it: "Dress up for me," she said. Her condition being on my mind I forgot the photos that the lady took.

The silver tie and pocket square was a previous birthday present from my lady. She loved it, how it compliments the bespoke Gamble & ***n grey hat. The lady has colour co-ordination down to a tee.
By the way, today she has recovered well. Many of you ask of her well being, it is much appreciated.
