How many new jackets do you have coming (and how many potential ones)?

I've seen a few of the British ones but not any of the German styles. Some of the button up styles look a little like late 19th/early 20th century military uniforms.

Yes, the military echo caught my attention as well. Entirely plausible they started out as military-influenced fashion before early motorcyclists caught on to the wind-cheating advantages of a fold-over front... Lewis, founded 1892, claim to have been the first dedicated motorcycle-wear company, which is quite possible.... early on, motorcyclists adopted what was practical; which accounts for engineer boots or riding boots, or harness boots in the US, and their British counterpart, which evolved out of horse-riding boots in the main. Notably, even today traditional-looking US motorcycle boots are more likely to have a raised heel like a cowboy boot, whereas the Brit & European boots tend to a flatter heel, as seen on riding boots over here.

Ross Langlitz was doing then in the mid 40s called it Cascade

I wonder was he influenced by Lewis? There'd be a nice symmetry in that, given the 1956-launched Lewis Bronx (even the name!) was very clearly influenced by the American jackets of the period.

Coming:

1) Levi's (Aero) Bird of Prey pre-production sample without the screen printed back or fake repairs.

2) Thedi canvas / leather A1.

3) Ralph Lauren D pocket. Judging by the label this jacket is at least 15 years old. Back then RL leather jackets were of decent quality (Not top tier of course). They even made some from horsehide.

4) Field Leathers modified Idaho 2.0

After the YouTube guy posted the FL review, Greg received so many requests for oil tanned / full aniline brown shinki that he decided it was time to order another batch.

I think I'm going for the same design as my first modified Idaho but now in brown with contrast stitching and some small tweaks here and there.
Those are some nice jackets Marc particularly the Levi Aero

Great pick up. The RRL is a copy of one of my favorites- a Hercules!

I am beyond excited.

@dudewuttheheck definitely not your style as they're very dressy but I can't wait to own a pair of Clinch boots and wear them. I only handled some in Clutch Cafe in London and tried the Mast Trainers.

Congrats. Beautiful. Very true to the early Balmoral boots. The other Balmoral are more modern. Even the Stacy Adams fail to capture that early style.

First off, I'm fairly new here, so it's lovely to be able to nerd out on these sort of things. I rolled the dice on an ebay Branded Garments cross-zip. I've always wanted a good one and I'm hoping this will be it! Wish me luck, y'all. ;)

Welp...jacket arrived with a couple undisclosed problems. Awesome leather, but there's pin hole in the collar (not so bad) and a massive, shredded rip in the lining inside one of the arms. Sigh. Just sent the seller a message. I'm not interested in trying to do a repair on this. The search continues...though I wonder if at some point I should stop trying to bargain hunt and do something more...I dunno...new? :D

A rip in the sleeve lining is no biggie, and a pin hole allows for some customization...
If it fits, and the price was good keep it.

I'm trying to cut back with mixed emotions. Lusting after some of the ones I sold a while back, but really trying to not buy any more. I'm such a weirdo. Every time I buy a premium jacket it just sits in the closet and I end up wearing my "beaters" instead. I'm gracefully exiting from the scene, slowly, with some exceptions. There's a hell of a lot one can buy with $700+ that isn't a jacket. At the moment I want a giant model zeppelin to hang from the ceiling. LOL

You're not a weirdo. All of us on the lounge are the weirdos compared to the general population who go about their day not thinking about what jacket to wear, buy, lust after etc. They put the appropriate jacket they own on for the weather that day. I'm completely with you, there are a lot of necessities that $700 + can buy especially if they already have a closet full of jackets.

I appreciate the encouragement! If the fit was perfect, I would probably figure out a way to work with it and find a tailor to repair it, but it's not quite right. I've been eyeing some other Branded options in a similar price range and suspect I would do better with one that is fully intact with any issues disclosed. I must admit I'm also a little peeved at the flaws being hidden.

New jacket option. I’ve been looking for a natural hide type 1 sort of style jacket. Fine creek made a beautiful one in the past but I’ve had absolutely no luck finding a new or used one in a 44. Y2 is making this one. Natural hide. If I pull the trigger the deposit is due by feb 20th and the jacket should show up fall 2021. I’ll hopefully have measurements by feb 8th which will obviously be the deciding factor. Now for pics.

Welll, it’s a hobby after all, isn’t it?! It’s not about physical needs or being sensible. It’s about indulging into something that is special and that others don’t necessarily grasp.
I actually have two colleagues that envy me for being “into vintage inspired clothing”. They don’t understand, but they see my enthusiasm, me having fun talking endlessly about different styles in different historical contexts and occasionally they will even see an exhibit.

So, no! We’re no weirdos here.

Hi,
Received these two jackets. Far between in style. First one is a new Aero board racer j-100 in blackened Brown Vicenza horsehide. Nr 2 is a very rare Limited Indigofera Eagle Rising leather overshirt (no lining) in Italian aniline horsehide Cognac color, only 30 pieces ever made.
Too Cold for fit Pictures -10 Celsius!

Cheers Joakim
