I think you’re absolutely right. There can be several reasons to want to get in full outdoor gear. I just find it funny cause for me that is strictly utilitarian clothing. I realise other people see it differently. I do have a full fjällräven outfit as well, but for me I reserve it for longer hiking trips when I’m planning on spending a couple of nights outside.

fjällräven is like a nicer and more expensive version of the north face right? It's just cool to see those kind of specialized gears but it looks out of place sometimes lol

On another note, I really like that wrangler trucker you have. Also curious to know when will you receive your 5* version of it!?

Fjällräven is a little bit more expensive compared to North Face, which I haven’t tried so I can’t comment on any quality differences. They might be even more expensive for you in the US, since it’s a Swedish brand. Fjällräven make super durable stuff though. My favourite flannel shirt is a fjällräven, I’ve had it for 7 years and have worn it for maybe a 100 days a year. NO sign of wear at all. Even the colours look the same as when it was brand new. I used to own another fjällräven shirt that I got from a thrift store, which I wore for several years. In the end I got bored with it so I gave it away to a thrift store. It was also in great condition after who knows how many years?

Thanks! I’m pretty pumped about the Wrangler trucker and how it fits. All the dimensions are really close to the dimensions that I gave to 5* so that one should fit similarly. It actually arrived to Sweden this morning so I should be able to pick it up later today or tomorrow. Really excited about it!

I went hiking a couple of times this summer, and you see can still see this from time to time. Not as common as they used to be 5 years ago but they’re still there. Although this summer I only saw them with old ladies, which makes sense to me. They should help with balance.

The funniest **** for me though is all the people gearing up in their serious outdoor gear. Like they’ll be wearing the sturdiest hiking boots, fjällräven gear all over. For a hike of 5 km on a gravel path through the woods. Dude, you’re not even in the woods! My 5 year old walked this path in flip flops while holding a barbie doll.[/QUOTE]

Same here. Enough Gore-tex on any given day out and about to extinct the world population of Plastic-cows.

The most enoying thing about "Nordic-Walking" is that the "athletes" usually come in herds of 5+ silver-agers obstructing any path there is. Trying to get past as a runner, biker or even (real) walker, you are in for a lot of "jolly" remarks etc. I really shouldn´t let that bug me at all, but I always fail...

Ditto. Rows after rows of people so geared up, they might as well proceed to Annapurna while they're at it, but no, you often see the same sort, taking a break only at the most narrow spots on the path. I just run past them and ignore the comments. The entire etiquette where you have to say hi to the people who have reached the summit (of one mile) is so annoying. There's like a thousand people you'll pass at any given day. It's not that big of a deal.

The thing is: I always loved the woods. Have been out on my own forever. These lockdown days, all people can do is go hiking or beat up your family, so all places I used to have for myself are so cowded now. Really can´t and won´t blame anybody for doing what I do but still: It´s not the same anymore.

When we went for a walk through the dunes, my gf was complaining that she had to listen to the conversations of those walking before and those walking behind us. That's how crowded it was.

I have no idea what you guys are talking about but it sounds awful. I never go anywhere near nature myself if I can help it so I can't say if those sorts of capers go on here.

Simmons Bilt J100 for today's 18C out and 33C run home.
The black goathide was just too warm, and it is "much cooler" than my entire Schott collection
Should have been either the vented Vanson Sturgis OR the perforated Vanson Comet. You "live and learn" haha...

Can I ask how's the SB goathide? Is it comfortable to wear? And not too heavy, I think?

I live 10 mins from the beach so my New Year’s resolution is to shoot a lot more pics outdoors that showcase La Jolla/San Diego. But for now an indoor shot with a non-leather. Levi’s Made and Crafted Neppy Trucker.

Your photos are always great!

New to me: Lewis Leathers Phantom. Beautiful horsehide.

Really great fit and jacket but I think it's sheep, though. Which would be my personal favorite by LL and by far.

Got it. I checked their online store and it's pretty much the same type of clothing I see people wear here but looks like it's more slimmer. My local weather is too mild and I don't do any ********* outdoors activity that would necessitate specialized clothing so I'm lucky I don't have to spend much. Flannel shirts are just cool, really cozy and love how easy to wear it is

It fits you well. Nice! Hope you get to wear that 5* wrangler today!

Thanks, it’s Nostromo crew cap from the movie Alien

Thanks, i think the f1.8 lens does all the job for me.

Just got this one in the mail, Schott Suede rancher in 38. Looks more like a +36 but Thanks to the precise measurements from the seller, its spot on . Love the thickness of the suede on that one.

That's a beautiful suede jacket. It doesn't look like Schott leather. Where did you purchase that?
