Man, few grands worth of clothes which isn't much at all but you'd still expect I'd be able to come up with anything fancy(er) for a date. Then again, switching jackets and boots over the same old outfit doesn't really count as trying. Wish I could walk out of the apartment only once like @Marc mndt ! Those are my goals.

Thnx buddy, I really appreciate it but that's way too much credit. I'm still a rookie, owning three or four nice jackets.

This is a great outfit! How much fancier could one get!?

This jacket took some work to get wearable. I believe it's a 70's model cafe racer jacket. It smelled like it had been in an old man's musty, basement closet for the last 30 years or so. I machine washed gentle in a front loader, then dried it with a blower outdoors, aired it out for a week or so and then gave it a heavy treatment of Lexol. It's still got a touch of the original smell but it's faded enough to be wearable and will hopefully fade completely after a few more weeks.

I've seen ultra-premium jeans advertised for sale-at high prices- on another forum with words to the effect, "owned 2 years and only washed once." Then I think "bio-hazard." Yeah, I just don't get that.

I do wash my selvage denim in the bathtub and air dry them outside because I have bought into that part of the denim hype. I wash them after five or six wears though, or whenever they seem dirty. I prize clean odor-free denim over sick fades any day!

I wash in the tub too- to avoid the spider lines and weird streaks from the machine. I also find they keep their color longer this way.

If you want to, go for it. Shouldn't leave a huge mark. The jacket fits you really well!
