How many new jackets do you have coming (and how many potential ones)?

Fit feels fantastic if a touch long in the back.

Jacket also feels a bit dirty, zip is a little actually sticky, so a cleaning is in the future for sure.

The leather quality is amazing. Strong, supple, beautiful grain. Really cool jacket

That grin says it all. Congrats!

serious kidney protection :), great looking fit

SUPER SERIOUS

Really the stiff kidney panel is the only thing I didn’t immediately like. Strikes me as the sorta thing that could come off as “cosplaying” being a biker.

But it doesn’t really bother me. I mean, I now have several motorcycle jackets, and I’ve never pretended to be something I’m not in them. Why should this one be different?

Correction: this is a Bates. Perfect fit! Bates is one of those pattern that has a “universal fit” lol

The kidney panel has a cardboard in it, paper cardboard. I usually remove mine.

Just receive a batch of this amazing veg tanned goat, this is Shinki level goat. Far superior than any solid colored A2 goat to date, this is a 200 year old tannery and has more likely supplies to WW2 makers. It’s crisp and jerky to the touch, has a brilliant russet base with dark top, so it’s two tone already. Should echo well with small trim of black goat.

Thought you were joking about that in the earlier post. How do you take it out?

WOAH. That’s some beautiful hide. What do you plan to do with it? An A2? And how do you take it from hide to completed jacket?

I actually have sent my Bates to Johnson to take it out while doing other stuff.

Makes sense. I’ve been talking to Damon there about a custom vest. I’ll bring it up next time we talk.

Thanks

I bought this HH TRD. Hopefully it’s not a TURD. I remember @Guppy saying these were really nice jackets. Seller claims it’s 9lbs of HH. We’ll see. If the fit is good and it’s a quality jacket I’ll send it to Dena and have the goofy belt removed.

@ton312, I am interested on hearing your thoughts about TRD. I have been in their shop a few times long ago. I think their leather quality is all over the map. Some pieces looked like 10oz dragon hide, while others looked very flimsy and thin. I had a m/c vest from them, decent weight(maybe 3oz) but a lot of loose threads and very flimsy pocket linings.

Your example looks very robust from the pics. Hope it fits and meets your expectations.

Vanson AR3. Only bidder, which surprised me. This would be my only Cafe style jacket. I need at least one to feel complete.

I returned the Thurlow. Leather was flaking, cracked...the jacket was heading towards the long sleep. Very nice though.

I’ll update the thread! I have no experience with these guys and no clue what to expect. I’ve set the bar pretty low.
