With the start of baseball season, it was time to wear the ol’ Brooklyn Dodgers varsity jacket. Made by Moonlight Graham, 100% wool body and leather sleeves. Thick chenille lettering. Quilted lining. Had brunch with my wife at a local diner that has that all-stainless steel Art Deco exterior, and the interior looks like a 1950’s time capsule. Everything looks all original and unchanged for the last 50 years.

Now that is a cool jacket. When the Dodgers were in Brooklyn, they were one of my favorite teams. After the move to LA I lost interest in them. One of our neighbors was a sportswriter who was originally from Brooklyn. He was a rabid Dodgers fan and was partly responsible for my interest in the team. It broke his heart when they moved.

Thanks! I grew up in Brooklyn a Mets fan but have a big interest in the history of the game; every old timer I’d meet would always talk about their love of “dem Bums”. The Brooklyn Dodgers will always be one of the most storied baseball clubs in history.

Thanks HD.. this is a Freewheelers cap, they call it a "Cassady", they usually release new ones in different colors and fabrics each season..

Really nice graining on the right sleeve!

Thanks, I gotta give @casechopper the credit for any wear and tear on this one.. he did most of the heavy lifting.. I just bought it from him last week.

Found this old horsehide Taubers at the flea yesterday. I swore I wasn't looking for another jacket, but I couldn't pass it up. (I did pass up a vintage Cal Leather cafe racer with diamond quilted shoulder and elbow pads. Sadly it was just too small and beyond redemption.)
Anyhow...here's a fit pic of the Taubers. The horsehide is in great shape, but overall a little tight for me, so if someone is interested, it's in the classifieds with more pics and all the details. Meanwhile, I'll ride it down to the cafe a last time.

Nobody to take photos of me wearing any of my jackets anymore. Nobody to say "That one's even worse than the last one!". Nobody whose perpetually negative comments I couldn't wait to hear whenever I bought any new piece of wardrobe. Never a good jacket in 5 five years and I loved every second of it.

Damn you, life. Why give you'll just take it away?

Two that you actually kinda liked... Levi's and Hein Gericke. Not today but who cares.

Sorry to hear that. What happened, if it's not indiscreet?
