Hawaii Five-O, and I never really watched the show.

It was a big hit for The Ventures back in the day, so a lot of people who like the song didn't necessarily watch the program. It's a strong instrumental so it isn't tied directly to the show by lyrics, same as the Theme from Peter ***n or The Rockford Files.

Almost FIFTY YEARS LATER! I STILL remember that theme song! NO! I did not just listen to it. One of the other main characters was one of the police officers on "Car 54 Where are You?" I don't know if I could ever pull his name out of that dusty mess I call a memory. However, I think in about twenty minutes I can probably pull out his character's name from Car 54.

You're thinking of Joe E. Ross, who played Officer ***ther Toody on Car 54, and played Gronk on It's About Time. Little-known trivia: His trademark "Oooh! Oooh!" was his way of stalling until he could remember his next line.

Although he is a wonderful and prolific character actor, I don't know if I would ever have pulled out Joe E Ross' name without looking it up somewhere.
