Frank Sinatra's vintage suit jacket

Found this several weeks ago at a Goodwill thrift store near Hollywood Blvd. Goodwill didn't know what it had!

It's a vintage smooth-finished tan wool gabardine suit jacket custom made for FRANK SINATRA in 1966 by Carroll & Co., the exclusive Beverly Hills haberdashery (located at that time on Rodeo Drive). Measures to be a size 40 Short. Fully lined; the lining has a paisley print.

I’ve included a black & white image of Mr. Sinatra wearing a darker version of this jacket while singing at a late ‘60s concert.

The quality of tailoring is excellent. All buttonholes are handsewn, and the sleeves have working buttonholes (or “surgeon’s cuffs”).

What I miss is the late, lamented At-Ease , Al Douglass's shop ... especially the one in Westwood Village. Much like Carroll's, but with a more youthful (collegiate?) sensibility.

That tie is almost like a Fornasetti design. The shoes are wood ****ed on the waist.

Not the same 'At-Ease'. Years ago, Al Douglass retired and sold the business to some corporate suits, who proceeded to bankrupt it. They then sold the name.

50's sport coats

Wholly in keeping with my tendency to ****** mainly 50's stuff I just won two nice German sport coats from the 1950's (presumably). And pretty cheap they came, too. Note the action back/bi-swing detail.
